Spotlight on Human Rights – Young Journalists on Tour

On 2-10 October, 2010б young journalists (16-20 years old) from Germany, Poland and Belarus will meet in Kreisau in Poland. This will be first of three meetings for the project 'Spotlight on Human Rights - Young Journalists on Tour'.

The project goal is to show a different picture of the young people’s lives from Germany, Belarus and Poland. In tri-national groups, six participants per country (Belarus, Germany, Poland) who are between 16-20 years old will carry out interviews with young people from Germany, Poland and Belarus, who, from the human rights perspective are one of the most vulnerable groups in society.

The research trips and writing phases are part of the programme which also consists of workshops on journalistic techniques, photography and human rights education. The workshops are led by experienced trainers who will ensure that human rights are not only the central point of the workshops but are also that they are met during the project work.

The first part of the project will take place from 2-10 October 2010 in Kreisau and in a couple of German cities (research trips). The second part will be in Belarus and the third one will take place from 17-23 March, 2011 in Poland. (The dates of the Belarus part will be determined in consultation with participants).

The participation fee (programme, accommodation, full board) is: 80 Euro for participants from Germany, 50 Euro for participants from Poland and 30 Euro for participants from Belarus. The travel costs to Kreisau will be partly reimbursed.
