Competition and Innovation Summer School 2011

Applications are welcomed for the Competition and Innovation Summer School (CISS) that will take place at the International Academy Marmaris (IAM) located in Turunç, Turkey, on May 23 – May 28, 2011. Advanced PhD students and PostDoc researchers are eligible to apply for participation.

CISS offers young interested researchers within the fields of innovation economics, competition analysis and industrial organization the possibility to intensively discuss their dissertation plans or drafts within a peer group of experienced and renowned scholars and other PhD students in a great environment.

Formal lectures every morning, providing students with detailed knowledge on current topics of entrepreneurship, the economics of science and intellectual property rights, empirical competition analysis and contemporary issues in theories of industrial organization. Students’ presentations and workshops on research methodologies and tools – will take place in the afternoon.

Registration fees: 350 €. Fees cover room accommodation, airport transportation in Turkey, lunch and dinner expenses, access to lectures and workshops, and to the materials distributed to participants. Travel and other expenses are not included.

Financial support: Within the limits of the available budget, CISS commits to providing financial support (full coverage of participation fee or travel grant) to students without alternative sources of funding. After the application deadline, successful applicants will receive an e-mail specifying the financial support CISS can provide.

Travel and Accomodation: CISS will take place at the International Academy Marmaris (IAM) located in Turunç which is about 21 km away from Marmaris. Fees include accommodation in a double-room with private bathroom as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner provided at the summer school venue. Free WLAN is available in the seminar building. The venue can be reached via Dalaman airport. Complimentary transportation from/to Dalaman airport to/from the venue will be organized on arrival (SUN, May 22) and departure (SUN, May 29) days.
