Programme Structure:
* 1st year: Acquire a solid background for the doctoral work; set out the proposed research.
* 2nd and 3rd years: Research, field work, data collection, writing of the thesis under close supervision.
* 4th year: Writing up and preparation for the defence of the thesis. Part of the year may be used for professional or university traineeships or teaching opportunities.

Candidates must have a good working knowledge of English. Spoken and written tests in English (similar to the TOEFL or IELTS test) are obligatory for all candidates who are non-native speakers of English.
